Tips to keep cool this summer
Stay Cool, Calm and Hydrated
- Eat more foods that are Sweet, Bitter, Astringent like salads, greens, basmati rice, milk, ghee, apple, pear, watermelon.
- Avoid sour, spicy, salty, hot foods or eat less of these.
- Avoid ice-cold beverages. Instead, sip cool or room temperature water with cucumber slices or drink coconut water to keep cool and hydrated.
- Drink herbal teas such as mint, hibiscus, dandelion and chicory.
Signs of increase in Pitta dosha might be aggravation, irritability, anger, judgment, or impatience. You may also experience inflammation, rash, diarrhea, heartburn/acid reflux, or even stomach ulcers.
Check with your healthcare provider to rule out any serious issues and ask him/her about trying these suggestions.
Have a fabulous summer!
I'll be teaching the Intro to Ayurveda course at Yavapai again this fall. Tell your friends if you think they would be interested!
Or better yet, bring them to an Evening of Ayurveda next month (see my upcoming speaking schedule in the link below). I'd love to see you there!
Meanwhile, stay connected to hear about my Ayurveda book coming out soon!
